In her photographic portraits, Lottie Carroll portrays brilliantly each individual horse’s character. An accomplished horsewoman and rider, Lottie knows horses intimately and understands the partnership between horse and rider from the inside. She can judge just the right moment to capture, with great sympathy, a particular horse’s spirit and personality, as well as the subtle dynamics between horses and their humans. Lottie also has a terrific eye for landscape, creating beautiful backdrops for her portraits. Seeing Lottie’s photos makes one want to go riding on Dartmoor, the scene of much of her artistic inspiration, but even more compellingly, to ride into those gorgeous views, on those horses, who appear only a shutter’s click away. Lottie captured Jaffah’s energy, forward-going nature, and the force of his personality perfectly. He is a lovely horse to ride, who seems genuinely to enjoy going on expeditions, at all paces, though galloping is preferred!

Lottie took some wonderful pictures of me and my horse on Dartmoor. Lottie worked quickly and efficiently which is essential when dealing with action photos on horses. I was delighted with the results and when showing the photos to my friends the comments have been very complimentary indeed. A really good experience all round.

Last September I was one of a group who took part in a photo shoot by Lottie Carroll. She took a variety of excellent photos of myself riding my horse Charlie portrayed against the wonderful backdrop of Dartmoor and blue skies. She captured me in action riding in all paces, walking, trotting, and cantering, and also some beautiful portraits of Charlie on his own, all of which were done professionally and quickly.

Had a wonderful day with Lottie. She spent time with each of us, listening to what sort of photographs we were interested in. She understands how to photograph horses and what to capture. We had lots of fun trying to capture our shots. The horses were very comfortable around Lottie and we got some great shots.

Couldn’t recommend Lottie enough. I had a lovely photo shoot with my horse and felt at total ease the whole time, very relaxed and enjoyable. Lottie has horses herself which makes all the difference as she understands their paces and does an amazing job at capturing them. I got a lovely variety of photos from my shoot and couldn’t of asked for anymore. Very talented photographer and highly recommended.

I had recently, the pleasure of experiencing Lottie's Photography skills. I gave her the task of capturing my eldest Sons 21st Birthday combined with "leaving home for Uni" Photo's. I was precise in what I wanted, demanding possibly, the finished photos needed to include certain landscape details and criteria etc Lottie more than fulfilled my wishes. she was so patient with my neverending suggestions as I attempted to describe just what I wanted! I needn't have worried, Lottie captured all and more. The strong relationship between a young man and his once in a lifetime horse, evident & captured perfectly on her Camera. I now have those special memories captured visibly forever thanks to Lottie. Strong attention to detail and ever super efficient, Lottie never failed to perfect and produce photos to my tight deadline, albeit with weather changing and light fading fast on the actual timeslot Lottie had to finally adhere to. I highly recommend her for a precious photoshoot. she just listened and "got me". Talented but understated & conscientious, she lets her work do the talking. Thank You again Lottie, see you for my youngest Sons 21st!

I had a lovely shoot with Lottie down at Mothecombe beach it was my pony's first ever time at the beach. Lottie was very patient, she asked what photos I wanted and captured them beautifully, even including off guard photos which I have to say are my favourite. I will definitely be using Lottie again in the future.
